Practicing Kindness (through Creativity)

Exciting news--I'm launching a new workshop!

I have been pondering for months now how to weave my new learning from my meditation teacher training course with my passion for creativity as a doorway to kindness and joy. I have some ideas I'm excited to share with you!

I created an offering that weaves playing with creative materials (for me just being near art supplies boosts my joy), with guided exploration of meditation and mindfulness. Personally, creative expression is an entry point for me into the practice of being present with heartache and joy. Sometimes I say, "The only way I was ever able to slow down was by moving paint around with a brush!"

What is the mindfulness/meditation focus?

This offering centers practices of meditation and mindfulness (specifically around being present in this moment, self compassion, and the heart-expanding lovingkindness practice).

What materials will we be using?
We may play with sharpies, watercolor pencils and paint on watercolor paper.

Who is invited?

All levels of experience in meditation and creativity are welcome. Especially beginners!

Bonus: I'd love for any teens to participate (though mine will be away at camp)--message me about a teen discount.

Is this workshop a fit?

This workshop will be a good fit for anyone who struggles to offer themselves kindness. This workshop would also benefit anyone who has a barrier to creative materials b/c of too much self judgment. If you've ever wanted to get into meditation, but struggle with stillness, this could be a great entryway. I'm happy to talk to you to help you decide if this offering is a fit.

WEEKEND GETAWAY

September 29 - October 1, 2023

Trails End Camp, Pocono Mountains, PA

Mission

A safe and brave space for women to reconnect with themselves, nature and a community of diverse women.

What’s the Weekend Getaway like?

A loving environment that encourages exploration and expression through a schedule of activities and opportunities. Women choose their own workshops and partake in whatever classes and other activities they desire. All experiences at the Weekend Getaway are engaging and interactive and the women receive so much from sharing their stories with and listening to one another.

What are the accommodations like?

The Weekend Getaway is held at a quality camp facility on 400+ acres. There are multiple lodging options ranging from community cabins shared with others to private lakeside cottages. Accommodations are comfortable with heating for the brisk fall nights.

Who attends the Weekend Getaway?

This unique community of women is a coming together of women of all ages and life stages. Young women from 15 all the way to women in their early eighties attend the experience. Most women are between ages 30-60 with a diverse range of backgrounds.

Why does someone attend the Weekend Getaway?

Women search for something like the Weekend Getaway, when they are going through a time of change in their lives and seek the support of others to uplift them and ease their fears. The themes that we mostly hear that drive women are trouble in their marriage or relationship, wanting to change careers, losing themselves to motherhood, desiring something more out of life as they enter a new chapter, and so on.
