The feeling being amongst the great sequoias of California is one of awe, humility, wonder, joy, peace, tenderness, a connection to what it means to be immovable and the knowledge that all things change.

In the studio as I paint this Sequoia National Park view I find myself reflecting that perhaps the invitation is to be immovable in knowing all things change. Immovable in the practice of letting go. Here for every precious moment--even as it passes by.
