Snowy winter days in a pandemic have a beauty and an ache that seem to move side by side. In the studio I rest into the beauty of painting a flower. There is a vulnerability in living that is not so different than this flower, beautiful and fleeting. I am reminded of David Whyte’s words in a poem,

"That radiance
you have always
carried with you
as you walk
both alone
and completely
accompanied
in friendship
by every corner
of the world
crying
Allelujah."
