Pouring Out Kindness
Pouring Out Kindness
What a total delight to paint these Lenten Rose from the garden. I love how the painting turned out to have the feeling of a watercolor.
Lenten Rose/Hellebore are undemanding in their arrival and yet adorable in their presence. The way the petal opens down, feels like emptying a cup pouring out all the goodness.
I wrote two questions beneath this canvas,
“What if I lived from the belief that my true nature is wise and loving?”
“What if I lived, breathed, moved from my most wise and loving self?”
A phrase came to me recently in my lovingkindness meditation practice that I feel links the flower and the intention, “May kindness (for self and others) come easily.” That feels like wisdom from a wise and loving place. To me when kindness to others comes easily it is a sign I’m centered, living from my true nature, my most wise and loving self. I picture these flowers that open downward, pouring out kindness. A flow of joy, support, encouragement that comes easily. Offered freely.
