I noticed my beloved (resilient!) houseplant quietly offered this single bloom. This painting is my attempt to capture her presence and beauty.

I'm pretty sure this one flower offers everything I need to know about life.

You know how parents of rescue dogs say, "Who rescued who?" I feel that (in a smaller way) about this little house plant, "Who kept who alive?" It is an over dramatization and yet the simple act of tending a plant does heal something within and is perhaps part of the broader healing. When we show kindness (watering, sunlight, rotating) even in the smallest form perhaps we create pathways for kindness to emerge in larger forms too.
