Love Will Return
Love Will Return
Reflections on Cherry Blossom Painting. 🌸
Whether I resist or rest in gratitude, time moves forward. Impermanence is a constant companion. At times a dear friend and at times a terrorizing presence.
Something about blossoms, cherry blossoms in particular, capture this sentiment. They embody the fleeting nature of life. These blossoms help me to experience in two weeks what I might experience in a lifetime. A burst of immense beauty and then total surrender.
A phrase, attributed to the novelist Kafka, that has a permanent residence in my heart is that, "Everything you love, you will lose....and yet that love will return to you in new forms." These blossoms fall. Yet beauty is there for us each season and emerges in new moments unplanned. Do we grieve that the petals fall or celebrate that the divine was so kind and generous to bring such beauty into our life at all? Perhaps both. Grieving and gratitude, The less distance I put between these two the more present I feel.
