Is there any longing stronger than the hope for the health and well being of those we love? 

--That they might be free from suffering. 

--That they might know joy and freedom.

--That they might be protected from harm. 

--That they might thrive.

How might the longing for the health and well being of another change our world? change the world?

In researching hydrangeas, I am touched to learn that there are hydrangea fossils millions of years old. I find myself thinking of how this longing for the health and well being of those we love is an ancient and enduring longing. One that binds us together. 

With this tender prayer these hydrangeas arrived. I always love the way the plentiful flowers intertwine and you don't really know where one little cluster ends and the other begins. Just like how our hearts are bound across generations, intertwined with those we love.
